The toolbar at the top of the mail page contains one button and the quick search box.
Clicking the Send Mail button allows you to create a new email conversation. You can either send a message to several recipients, or log details about a conversation that already took place elsewhere (for example, a meeting or phone call).
The rest of the mail page is divided into a series of tabs that provide specialized functionality:
The worklist is displayed just below the tabs. At the top of the worklist are the currently applied filters. Just below the filters, on the right side of the worklist, you have access to subtotals, customize, search, copy, and export. Beneath the worklist is a toolbar of actions you can perform on the selected results.
Clicking search allows you to copy all of the filters on a worklist into a search. This is useful if you need to modify one of the default, hidden filters for that worklist.
Clicking the piles icon allows you to easily perform bulk actions on tickets with similar properties, without having to setup a filter first.
The sorting options displayed at the top of the piles section allow you to group by Subject, Senders, or Headers. Selecting Headers will display an input box allowing you to enter a custom header, and a few common filters have been provided as links below the input box for convenience.
Clicking the RSS icon will allow you to create an RSS feed for the worklist currently being displayed. RSS feeds can be managed from the RSS tab in settings.
Saving the RSS feed will take you to the RSS tab in settings.
Clicking the peek button for any ticket will open the peek window. The peek window has several tabs with different functionality.
The messages tab allows you to view - and quickly page between - the messages on a conversation.
Information about the message is displayed at the top of the tab. The sender and recipient of a message are displayed for all messages, and the date is displayed for all messages except the first message on a ticket.
The link displayed in the bottom left corner of the peek window allows you to quickly view the whole ticket.
In the bottom right corner, the Next> and <Prev links allow you to navigate to the next and previous message on the ticket.
The << and >> links allow you to quickly jump to the first and last message.
The properties tab allows you quick access to other information about the ticket.
You can edit the Properties of the ticket - Status, Subject, Organization, Watchers, Owner, Bucket - on the Properties tab.
You can also edit the Custom Fields, if any have been set for ticket objects.
The Properties tab also displays the most recent comment and a handy form that allows you to leave another comment.
The actions toolbar allows you to quickly perform actions on the tickets that are currently selected. The below screenshot shows the actions toolbar in its extended state.
